Cougar Player Expectations
|
- Treat coaches, teammates, opponents and umpires respectfully. Use appropriate language and act responsibly.
- Be on time to all practices and games. Unexcused absences will likely result in reduced playing time.
- Be a positive influence with teammates. Never cut down a teammate in front of others.
- Give 100% effort in practices and games.
- Treat the field and equipment with care. Make certain the field is in better condition when you leave than when you arrived.
- ALL players are responsible for field maintenance at every practice and game.
- If you have been selected for a team, you are good athlete. Play with confidence and expect to succeed.
- Put TEAM GOALS ahead of personal goals.
- Discuss questions about playing time, positions and other issues with your coach. You are in high school. It is time for you to be your own advocate.
- If you are asked to play on another team this summer, bring a great attitude and a respect for the game to that team during your time with that team. Many players are double rostered and may be asked to play for multiple teams.
- Enjoy the situation you are in. You are a good baseball player and have earned the right to be on the team. Love the fact that you get to play at an elite level and take advantage of the opportunities you are given.
